How PDF merge and split works
Merge several PDFs (and PNG or JPG pictures) into one file, or pull pages out of a PDF. The work is done by your browser, so your documents are never uploaded and there is no account or file limit imposed by a server.
Steps
- On the Merge tab, add PDFs or pictures, drag them into the order you want, and optionally type a page range such as 2-4 for any file.
- Press Merge and download merged.pdf.
- On the Split tab, choose a PDF and a mode: extract pages, remove pages, split by ranges, one file per page, or every N pages.
- Type pages like 1-3, 5, 8- where asked. Several output files can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
Example
To keep pages 1–3 and 9 of a ten-page PDF, choose Split, then Extract, and type 1-3, 9. The download is one four-page PDF.
Questions
- Are my PDFs uploaded?
- No. They are read and combined inside your browser and never sent to a server.
- Can it open password-protected PDFs?
- No. Remove the password first, then try again. The tool tells you which file is protected.
- Is there a size limit?
- No limit is set by this site. Very large files can be slow or run out of memory on a small device.
- Does the merged file keep the title and author?
- The new file starts with blank document properties, so nothing from the sources is carried into it by accident.
