Fill in the table like a spreadsheet: quantity, manufacturer, catalog number, description. Press Enter to move down, paste rows straight from Excel, and the manufacturer column suggests names you have typed before. Then copy the table into a drawing or download it as Excel.
Tab moves right and Enter moves down, the way Excel does: after tabbing across a row, Enter returns to the column you started in. Drag the dotted handle to move a row, drag a column heading to move a column, and drag the right edge of a heading to resize it. From the keyboard, Alt+Up and Alt+Down move a row, and Alt+Shift+Left and Alt+Shift+Right move a column. In the Mfg column, keep typing to override a suggestion, press Tab or Enter to accept it, and press Backspace or Escape to drop it.
Drag a column heading to move it, and drag the right edge of a heading to resize it. Copy table and Download Excel use this same order, widths, wrapping and text size.
How the BOM builder works
A simple table for a bill of material: quantity, manufacturer, catalog number and description. It behaves like a spreadsheet, so you can paste from Excel, tab and enter between cells, and drag rows and columns where you want them.
Steps
- Type or paste rows. Tab and Enter move between cells the way Excel does.
- Type a manufacturer you have used before and it suggests the full name from your own history; keep typing to use your own text instead.
- Add or remove rows with the buttons, and drag rows or columns to reorder them.
- Switch to the drawing view, copy the table into a drawing, or download it as an Excel file.
Example
Paste twenty rows from a vendor quote, tidy the manufacturer names with autofill, then download the Excel file for the job folder.

- Does the autofill share my entries with anyone?
- No. Suggestions come only from what you typed on this device.
- Can I open the download in Excel?
- Yes. It downloads as an .xlsx file.
