PDF markup

Report a bug

Mark up a PDF, a photo or screenshot, or a blank sheet with pen, highlighter, text, shapes, revision clouds, stamps, and measurements. Files are opened on your computer and never uploaded. Your markups are saved in this browser, and you can download a new PDF with them built in.

Or start with a blank sheet:

    Revisions

A revision is a named copy of your markups. Save one before a big round of changes, then restore it any time.

How the PDF markup tool works

Open a PDF or a picture, or start from a blank sheet, draw and type on it, and download the marked-up result as a PDF. The file is read and marked up inside your browser and is never sent to a server.

    Steps

    1. Choose a PDF or picture, or start a blank sheet.
    2. Add text, shapes and marks where you need them.
    3. Move through the pages and mark each as needed.
    4. Download the marked-up PDF. Your marks are also saved in this browser so you can come back later.

    Example

Open a panel layout drawing, circle the parts that changed and add a note beside each, then download the marked-up copy to send to the shop.

    Questions

    Is my drawing uploaded anywhere?
No. The page works on your computer. The only page on this site that sends anything to a server is the bug report page.
Does it edit the original PDF text?
It adds marks on top of the pages. It is for markup and review, not for rewriting the text of a PDF.
    Can it work offline?
Yes, once the site has loaded once, markup works without a connection.
